Rating a seller

After your order is delivered and confirmed, you can leave a star rating and optional written review for the seller. Ratings help the ScentSell community make informed decisions and reward honest, responsive sellers.

When can you leave a rating?

The rating prompt appears in your order view after the order status reaches delivered or after you click Confirm Receipt. You have 30 days from the delivery date to submit a rating.

How ratings work

Ratings use a 1–5 star scale:

StarsMeaning
5Excellent — exactly as described, fast dispatch, great communication
4Good — minor issues but overall positive experience
3Average — acceptable but room for improvement
2Poor — significant issues with description accuracy or service
1Very poor — item not as described, dispute required

You can optionally add a written review of up to 500 characters. Written reviews are visible on the seller's public profile.

What ratings affect

  • Seller profile: Ratings are displayed as an average out of 5 stars with a count (e.g. "4.8 ★ — 23 ratings")
  • Search ranking: Listings from higher-rated sellers may appear higher in search results
  • Buyer trust: Many buyers filter by seller rating before purchasing
tip

If you received the item as described and the seller was communicative, a 5-star rating takes 10 seconds and makes a real difference to small sellers.

Can a seller respond to a rating?

Sellers can leave a brief public response to any rating on their profile. Responses must comply with ScentSell's community guidelines.
