Australian Niche Shop

ScentSell is building one place to discover and shop smaller independent Australian fragrance houses, separate from the pre-owned Marketplace. The shop is at /from-the-maker. It is designed for fragrance, oils and mists, bath and body, home fragrance, samples and gifts—not bottles alone.

The customer surface can be explored now, but real-house commerce is not yet open. When it is, you will browse a participating house on ScentSell, pay once, and each house will keep its full-bottle stock and pack and post its own parcel. Pre-owned stays on the Marketplace. The two do not share a product grid.

A real house does not appear as participating until it has joined and its information and catalogue have been approved—and a house cannot join until Justin has received its samples and smelled them.

What is on the shop today is placeholder stock. Every tile reads Your house and Your bottle here with an example price, so a house can see how its shelf would look. ScentSell has not invented a house name, a bottle name, a photo, a price or a relationship, and it will not. When a house has joined and its catalogue is approved, those bottles appear in the same search and filters — still named only as that house wrote them. Checkout will not take a card while no house has joined. Postage is the house's own quote, not a number typed in the browser. A refund is handled by ScentSell.

You can add a bottle from the product grid, a house page or the bottle page. Checkout takes one payment — card or Afterpay — for the houses in the trolley. Afterpay is only offered when every house in that trolley ships inside 14 days. Each house is its own parcel and its own postage. The Discovery Box remains a separate ScentSell-packed order. Returning from Stripe does not create an order by itself: ScentSell confirms the signed payment event first. House fulfilment, tracking and settlement remain attributable to the correct house. Once a house posts, the tracking number shows on that order. If ScentSell requests a refund, the amount and status show there too — you do not refund the order yourself.

Finding a product​

You can browse Products, Samples and Houses. Product filters change with the category. Fragrance can be narrowed by family, accords, notes, perfumer, concentration, audience, season, occasion, longevity, sillage, size, price, sample availability, stock and dispatch speed. Bath, body, home and gift products use filters that make sense for their real form rather than pretending everything is a perfume bottle.

Samples​

Discovery Boxes are packed by ScentSell only from sample stock physically in ScentSell's hands. Justin collates every bag and decides how many samples go in. Some bags are already put together; others come from the wizard. A sample is never offered from a website listing or title guess alone. Any sample-to-full-bottle code or incentive is controlled by the participating house.

  • Sold by the house, with its dispatch and returns information shown clearly

  • A redirect into several separate house checkouts
  • Buy-new mixed into pre-owned search
  • A claim that ScentSell holds a house's full-bottle inventory. Only sample stock for ScentSell-packed Discovery Boxes is held by ScentSell.
