Feature your house on ScentSell

ScentSell is Australia's collector-first fragrance marketplace — run by two fragrance lovers in Brisbane. Our audience is AU-based buyers who already own niche and artisan fragrances, and who actively look for new Australian houses to discover.

A featured spotlight is a clearly labelled placement on the Australian Fragrance Houses directory page. It sits alongside every other house in the A–Z list — it does not move you above it, push other houses down, or alter the catalogue in any way. What it does is give your house a moment of extra presence in front of an engaged local collector community.

  • A clearly labelled "Featured" pill on your house card in the directory
  • A spotlight block at the top of the page, above the A–Z grid, with your house name, a one-line description, and a direct link to your brand page on ScentSell
  • A co-branded share card — a ready-to-post image sized for Instagram and Stories so you can announce the feature to your own audience without building assets from scratch
  • Duration is set per agreement — typically a calendar month; multi-month packages available

Everything is disclosed. Visitors to the page can always see that a spotlight is a paid placement. We do not label it "Editors' Pick" or "Top Rated" — it says Featured, full stop.

What you get in front of

Our audience is predominantly Australian fragrance collectors:

  • People who already buy niche and artisan bottles (not casual gift buyers)
  • Active wear-diary users who track what they own and log how it smells on skin
  • Community members who routinely discover new Australian houses through the directory

This is not a mass-reach ad buy. It is a targeted placement in front of people who are actively looking for AU houses to support.

Our principles

We set these rules for ourselves, not just for you:

Labelled, always. A feature is a feature — it says so. No disguising paid placements as editorial.

Never reordered above the directory. Every Australian house in our list keeps its alphabetical position. A feature adds presence; it does not buy rank.

Never a paid AI answer. SniffBot, our AI assistant, does not recommend featured houses over others. Its recommendations are based on what a collector actually owns and how fragrances wear — money does not change that.

Founder-vetted. Every featured house is reviewed by JB or Bec before going live. We do not feature houses that conflict with our values or that we would not recommend personally.

No lock-ins. Featuring is short-duration by design. If it does not work for your house, you do not pay for another month.

How to enquire

There are no listed prices here — we set rates based on the duration, any co-created assets, and what makes sense for the house. Get in touch and we'll reply from sniff@scentsell.com.au within a few days.

The easiest way is the enquiry form on the Australian Fragrance Houses page — just scroll to the "Feature your house" section and tap Enquire about featuring.

Or email us directly: sniff@scentsell.com.au

Frequently asked questions

Does featuring affect how SniffBot recommends my fragrances? No. SniffBot's recommendations are driven by a collector's cabinet, wear history and taste profile. A featured spotlight on the directory does not influence AI outputs.

Do I need to be on the directory already? Yes — your house needs to be listed and approved in the A–Z directory before a spotlight can go live. If you're not listed yet, email us to get on the list first.

What does the co-branded share card look like? It matches ScentSell's copper-and-cream visual style — your house name and a short line, with the ScentSell mark. It's sized for both square and vertical Instagram formats. We send you the file before the feature goes live so you can approve it.

Can I feature if my house makes inspired-by or dupe fragrances? Yes, if you are already in the directory with the correct label (we note when a house makes inspired-by or hybrid scents). The spotlight will carry the same labelling.

How long does it run? That's part of the conversation — we do not have a single fixed duration. Most houses start with one month.
