Install ScentSell as an app
ScentSell runs in any mobile browser, but installing it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) gives you a proper icon on your home screen, a full-screen experience (no browser chrome), and — critically — reliable camera + microphone access for bottle-by-photo and voice logging. On iPhone especially, photo uploads and the microphone work far more reliably from the installed PWA than from Safari.

iPhone / iPad (Safari only)
Apple only lets Safari install PWAs — Chrome on iOS can't.
- Open www.scentsell.com.au in Safari.
- Sign in.
- Tap the Share icon at the bottom of Safari (square with an upward arrow).
- Scroll the bottom sheet down and tap "Add to Home Screen".
- Name it ScentSell (or whatever you like) and tap Add.
- Close Safari and launch ScentSell from the new icon on your home screen.
:::tip Grant permissions once The first time you tap Log wear by voice, Add by voice, or Add by photo, iOS will ask for microphone / camera access. Tap Allow. You won't be asked again inside the PWA. :::
Android (Chrome, Edge, Samsung Internet)
- Open www.scentsell.com.au in Chrome (or any Chromium browser).
- Sign in.
- You should see an "Install app" prompt at the bottom. Tap it.
- Or open the ⋮ menu → "Install app" / "Add to home screen".
- Confirm, and ScentSell installs like a native app with its own icon.
Updates
The PWA self-updates in the background. If you see "ScentSell updated — tap to reload" in-app, tap it. No app-store review process.
Uninstalling
- iPhone: long-press the icon → Remove App → Delete Bookmark.
- Android: long-press → drag to the trash at the top, or App info → Uninstall.
Troubleshooting
"Add to Home Screen" isn't showing up — you're probably in Chrome on iOS (doesn't work — only Safari), or your browser's private/incognito mode. Switch to Safari (iOS) or regular tab (Android).
Camera opens but photos don't upload — if this happens in the BROWSER but not the PWA, it's the browser running out of memory on large images. Installing fixes it.
Mic is blocked — check Settings → Safari/Chrome → ScentSell → Microphone. Must be Allow.
