Acceptable Use Policy

ScentSell is a community marketplace built on trust. This policy defines what is and is not acceptable on the platform. Breaches may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban.
Prohibited items
You must not list or sell:
- Counterfeit or fake fragrances — zero tolerance, permanent ban
- Items misrepresented as authentic — describing a known fake as genuine is fraud
- Stolen goods — listing items you do not have legal title to sell
- Items prohibited by Australian law — including goods subject to customs restrictions
- Tester or sample bottles listed as full retail bottles — must be disclosed accurately
Prohibited behaviour
You must not:
- Scam buyers — taking payment and not shipping, or shipping something different from what was listed
- Doxx other users — sharing another user's personal information (address, identity, contact details) without consent
- Harass or threaten — abusive, threatening, or discriminatory messages to any user or ScentSell staff
- Manipulate ratings — creating fake accounts to inflate your own seller rating or attack another seller's rating
- Circumvent platform payments — asking buyers to pay via bank transfer, PayPal, or cash to avoid Stripe and ScentSell's buyer protection
- Spam — sending unsolicited bulk messages to other users
Content standards
Listing descriptions, photos, and messages must:
- Be accurate and honest
- Not contain offensive, discriminatory, or illegal content
- Not include external links designed to divert buyers off-platform
Reporting violations
To report a listing, user, or message that violates this policy:
- Listing: click the Report listing flag icon on the listing page
- Message: use the Report option within the message thread
- Other: email support@scentsell.com.au
All reports are reviewed within 24 hours.
