The ScentSell Credo
How we treat each other here.
ScentSell exists to give Australian fragrance people a safer, more human place to buy, sell, swap and discover fragrance. The Credo is our plain-English community promise. It sits alongside the Terms of Service, which govern enforcement.
The short version
Be honest. Reply. Pack properly. Respect the bottle, the houses and perfumers, and the person on the other side.
That means:
- speak like there is a human on the other end;
- answer buyers and sellers instead of leaving them guessing;
- never list counterfeit fragrance or deliberately hide a problem;
- describe and photograph the actual bottle accurately;
- pack glass carefully, post promptly and add tracking;
- respect that fragrance taste is personal;
- respect Australian perfumers and independent houses;
- try to resolve ordinary problems calmly, then ask ScentSell to review the evidence when needed; and
- report bugs and frustrations without abusing another member or the small team behind ScentSell.
Serious fraud, counterfeits, threats, hate, harassment, misuse of personal information, or deliberately taking a ScentSell deal off-site to avoid the agreed fees or safeguards can mean immediate removal. Less serious conduct may receive a warning first.
