Auto-import from purchases

When you buy a fragrance on ScentSell — either from the peer-to-peer marketplace or the Scent Sell Shop — it can be automatically added to your collection.

What you'll learn

  • How auto-import works
  • What details are pre-filled
  • How to manage imported items

How it works

After a marketplace purchase is completed, ScentSell prompts you to add the fragrance to your collection. The fragrance details are pre-filled from the listing:

  • Fragrance name and brand (from our database match)
  • Bottle size
  • Fill percentage (from the seller's listing)
  • Item type (set to "full bottle" by default)

You review the pre-filled details, adjust anything if needed, and tap Add to my collection.

Scent Sell Shop purchases

Decants purchased from the Scent Sell Shop can also be added to your collection. After your order is shipped, you'll receive a prompt to add your new decants.

The item type is pre-set to "Decant" and the size pre-filled from the shop's product data.

Can I turn off auto-import prompts?

Yes. Go to Account → Notification settings and toggle off Add purchases to collection. You can still add items manually at any time.

What if the auto-import details are wrong?

Pre-filled details are editable before you confirm. If the fill percentage differs from what arrived (e.g. the listing said 90% but it looks more like 80%), adjust it at import time. You can also edit items after they've been added.
