Joining a ScentSell sale
When ScentSell runs a sale, you choose which of your bottles go in. Each bottle has its own Join or Leave. You can say yes before it starts.

Where it lives
Dashboard → Promotions. That is your area for ScentSell sales.
Three ways in, all the same screen:
- The Promotions tab in your seller Dashboard
- Account menu → Promotions
- Settings → Promotions
The email's "join the sale" button lands here too: /dashboard?tab=promotions. If you open Listings instead (Dashboard still opens there), a card points you to Promotions — Join is not on Listings. If you are signed in with bottles listed, a one-time card may also appear before the sale starts, with Put bottles in on that same Promotions screen. Shoppers do not get a “shop the sale” card until the sale is actually on.
A sale is on the seller who listed the bottle. A shared cabinet or a partner's cabinet does not put their bottles in your Promotions list, and joining a sale does not list anything from theirs.
Join or Leave each bottle
Each sale lists all of your active (and waiting-on-review) listings. Each row shows two numbers: the asking price now → the sale price, and what you take home now → what you take home in the sale.
- Press Join (or Put in, if the sale has not started yet) on that bottle
- Press Leave (or Take out) to pull it back out
- Tick several bottles if you want, then use the bulk button for those, or press the all-in button for every eligible bottle
There is no empty tick list with a “Drop ALL 0”. If a bottle is waiting on review, it stays on the list with Waiting on review until it is approved — then you can Join it.
Bundle-eligible bottles can go in. The sale is on the bottle; a later bundle still uses that bottle's sale price.
Before it starts vs once it is on
Coming sale. Saying yes readies the bottle. Your public asking price stays where it is until the start time. Shoppers do not see a sale badge yet. You can take bottles out any time before it starts, and nothing about the price has changed.
Sale on now. Saying yes drops the asking price immediately, and our commission drops with it.
What you take home
The usual ScentSell commission is 15%. On a joined bottle during a ScentSell sale, that rate is the sale's rate (often 0%). A 15% price drop at 0% commission is a wash: a $200 bottle listed at $170 still nets you $170.
The screen shows both take-homes before you confirm. If a future sale would leave you worse off, automatic opt-in will not put you in it. You still choose that one yourself.
Future sales, automatically
On the same Promotions screen there is one switch: Put my bottles in future ScentSell sales automatically.
It is off until you turn it on. It only readies bottles for sales that have not started yet, and only when take-home stays the same or better. A sale that is already running still needs Join from you. Turning it off does not pull bottles out of a sale you are already in.
Leaving
- Ready, sale not started: Take them out. Price never moved.
- In a live sale: Leave the sale. Prices go back to what they were.
Past sales sit under Sales you have been in.
Sale is not Boost
Putting a bottle in a ScentSell sale does not buy a Boost. Shoppers see the named sale. Before it starts those bottles stay at today's asking price; when it is on they see the green sale price and the old asking price crossed out. The Boosted strip only shows bottles you paid to boost.
