Photo requirements
Good photos are the most important factor in selling quickly. Buyers can't smell the fragrance — clear, honest photos build the trust that closes the sale.
What you'll learn
- What photos are required
- How to take great listing photos
- What photos will cause your listing to be rejected
Required photos
We recommend at least 3 photos per listing:
- Full bottle shot — The bottle from the front, clearly showing the label and brand name.
- Fill level — Hold the bottle up to a light source to show the fill line clearly. This is the most important photo for buyers.
- Box and accessories — If you have the original box, cap, or any accessories, photograph them separately.
Additional useful photos:
- Side view of the bottle
- Close-up of the label/cap
- Any flaws or scratches (required if condition is Fair or Heavily Used)
Photo tips
- Natural light is best. Take photos near a window during the day.
- Clean background. A plain white or neutral background helps the fragrance stand out.
- Avoid flash. Flash creates harsh reflections on glass bottles.
- Show the fill honestly. Buyers rely on the fill level photo. Overstating fill is grounds for a dispute.
- Show flaws. If there are scratches, dents, or marks, photograph them clearly. Buyers appreciate honesty and it prevents disputes.
What will get your listing rejected?
Our admin team reviews every listing. These will cause a rejection:
- Photos taken from another website (stock photos)
- Blurry or unusable photos
- Photos that don't show the actual item
- Fill level photos that are clearly inconsistent with the stated fill percentage
Photo upload
Drag and drop photos onto the upload area in the listing form, or tap Add photo to select from your device. You can re-order photos by dragging them — the first photo becomes the listing thumbnail.
