Spotlight collections

Spotlight collections are admin-curated themed galleries that group listings around a specific style, house, or era. Being featured in a spotlight collection is free, drives meaningful traffic to your listing, and requires no action on your part.

What is a spotlight collection?

Examples of spotlight collections on ScentSell:

  • "Woody edition — the best sandalwood, cedar, and oud offerings right now"
  • "Designer classics — Dior, Chanel, YSL, Tom Ford under $200"
  • "Discontinued gems — rare finds you won't see at retail"

Each collection is hand-curated by the ScentSell team and displayed on the ScentSell homepage and the Discover section.

The ScentSell curator team periodically reviews active listings and selects those that:

  • Match the collection's theme
  • Have accurate descriptions and high-quality photos
  • Are priced fairly relative to condition and fill level
  • Are from sellers with good ratings (preferred, but not required for new sellers)

You do not need to apply. Curation is entirely at the ScentSell team's discretion.

Getting notified of a feature

If your listing is selected for a spotlight collection, you'll receive:

  • An email notification from ScentSell: "Your listing has been featured"
  • A push notification (if enabled) with the collection name

You don't need to do anything once featured. The listing continues to operate normally — buyers can still make offers, purchase directly, or message you.

What to do to increase your chances

  • Post high-quality, well-lit photos (see Photos guide)
  • Write detailed, accurate descriptions — include fill percentage, condition, batch code if known
  • Price fairly using the ScentSell automated valuation as a baseline
  • Keep your seller rating high via responsive communication
tip

Listings that have already received views and saves are more likely to be considered for curation — so sharing your listing on social media early helps build that signal.
