Commands and notifications

The @scentsell_bot chat is a private ScentSell companion. Commands open the right Mini App section or take you back to the secure ScentSell page; explicitly named cabinet actions can be saved safely in the private chat. Deals, payments, addresses and negotiations remain in ScentSell.

Commands work only in your private chat with the bot. The bot ignores group messages so an account link or cabinet shortcut cannot be triggered in a group.

Writing an action in chat

Sniffbot recognises deliberately clear collection actions:

• log my wear - Salt and Pepper saves a wear for that bottle;
• I wore Salt and Pepper does the same; and
• make a shelf called Winter at Night creates a private shelf.

It resolves the name against your own cabinet, or your household bottle pool when you have chosen one shared cabinet. A separate partner cabinet is never changed. Where a name matches more than one physical bottle or is not in the cabinet, Sniffbot asks you to choose instead of guessing. A shelf remains private until you deliberately make a public-safe share card in ScentSell.

First message and link status

Before an account is linked, Sniffbot says hello using your Telegram name, explains what it can help with, and gives you one Link my ScentSell account button. It does not claim a cabinet from a bare /start.

After the secure hand-off, Sniffbot explicitly says your Telegram is linked to ScentSell and shows cabinet, wear, shelf, listing and swap actions. If you ever need to check, send /start again in the private chat.

SniffBot

SniffBot is the ScentSell assistant. When you open it from Telegram, it uses the same member-scoped ScentSell knowledge as the website: your cabinet, the catalogue, your permitted wear history and the marketplace tools you are entitled to use.

It does not become a Telegram deal negotiator. It will not write to a partner’s personal cabinet, invent a recommendation as fact, or move a sale or swap conversation outside ScentSell. Layering and downloads in Telegram use the same paid ScentSell entitlements as SniffBot, MCP and collection export.

Stripe is not required for Telegram, your cabinet or a swap. It is only shown as the seller-payout step when you choose to publish a pre-owned bottle for sale.

Notification choices

Your transactional status remains in ScentSell. Use /messages to return to the secure conversation area, and open ScentSell to view offers, swaps, listing review and order status. You can unlink Telegram at any time from Settings → Connections → Telegram or with /unlink.

Marketing messages

You can opt into Telegram marketing in Settings → Connections → Telegram. Marketing consent is separate from operational account activity and is recorded with its version and date. Every marketing message, when sent, identifies ScentSell and gives you a straightforward way to stop future marketing.

We do not treat starting the bot, linking Telegram or opening the Mini App as marketing consent.
