ScentSell on Telegram

Telegram is an optional way to open ScentSell quickly. Your ScentSell account remains the source of truth for your cabinet, listings, wears, sales and swaps.

  1. Sign in to ScentSell.
  2. Open Settings → Connections → Telegram.
  3. Choose Link this Telegram chat. ScentSell opens a one-time link in the official @scentsell_bot chat.
  4. Press Start in that private chat. Sniffbot confirms your Telegram is linked to ScentSell, then shows your cabinet, wear, shelf, sale and swap actions.

Do not type /start yourself. The Link this Telegram chat button creates the one-time secure hand-off first, then opens the right bot conversation for you.

Only link a Telegram account you control. A Telegram account can be linked to one active ScentSell account at a time.

Open the Mini App​

Use the bot’s Open ScentSell button or its menu button. The Mini App opens inside Telegram with your cabinet, wear diary, shelves, listing activity and swaps.

What Sniffbot can do​

Once linked, Sniffbot greets you by your Telegram name and gives you direct actions to:

  • add a fragrance or paste a reviewed collection list;
  • log a wear or a compliment;
  • create shelves and prepare share cards;
  • begin a listing draft and check swaps; and
  • return to the secure ScentSell conversation when a sale or swap needs a message.

You can also write an explicit action in the private chat. For example, log my wear - Salt and Pepper or /wear Salt and Pepper logs a wear only when Sniffbot can safely resolve that bottle in your permitted cabinet. make a shelf called Winter at Night creates a private shelf. If two physical bottles match, or a fragrance is not in your cabinet, Sniffbot asks rather than picking or adding one for you.

You can use your cabinet, diary, shelves, share cards and swaps without Stripe. Stripe is only required when you decide to publish a pre-owned bottle for sale, so ScentSell can send your payout at checkout.

Telegram is free for signed-in ScentSell members. Paid SniffBot + MCP collection tools add grounded, collection-aware layering and shelf downloads; they do not create a separate Telegram memory or unlock an admin route.

Sending a bare /start before completing step 3 cannot link an account. That is intentional: Telegram must not be able to claim a cabinet without the one-time link created from the signed-in ScentSell account.

It is not a password shortcut and it does not receive your ScentSell browser session. Each Mini App launch is checked against Telegram’s signed launch data and gives the app a short-lived ScentSell session for that Telegram account only.

If you open the address in a normal browser, it will ask you to start from the ScentSell bot instead.

Send /unlink in the private @scentsell_bot chat, or unlink it from Settings → Connections in ScentSell. This immediately stops the Mini App from using that Telegram identity. You can link it again later from Settings.

Privacy and safety​

  • The bot works in private chats only. It ignores group and channel messages.
  • Telegram does not receive your ScentSell password, payment details, delivery address, marketplace messages or MCP connection.
  • Your Mini App session expires quickly. Open the bot again if it has expired.
  • Telegram is never a payment method and it is not a second negotiation thread.
